Shower‘s flower

Hairy necklace, made of sumptuous humans relics which linger -once again- to john’s shower.

All of us have stories of blocked up showers, because of hair and –oops- those indescribable things that come from our bodies...or even worth, from other’s bodies. How disgusting! Even if the other one in question is someone that we tenderly love.

These thin dark patterns, linear,  create a fascinating pattern on the spotless white faïence of the shower, that’s a real  rhizome! We could almost swear that it’s alive, yes, we’ve just seen it: it moved!, and that’s really ugly!... These tiny lines are scoffing at us, by their nonchalant presence, lying on the side of the tub after the high tide bath. They are hiding in the deepness of their loops some  fragile bubbles and dense knots. They form a web of thin and ephemeral curls on the shiny canvas.

My work deals with these situations where we are in between two feelings, half exceeded, half amused, floating in the ambiguity of ours feelings. Rooted in daily-life situations that we have all experienced, it is a proposition to move and consider the situation with a new glance, accepting the moment in a different way  and perhaps finding in it a kind of beauty, an interest, a connection. It may provoke a smile.  From a material considered as garbage, I create an ornament, an object that intrigues and attracts: a necklace or a pectoral.

In that scenario “Oh no John!” is whispered by his partner who discovers, just after waking up, the human rests left there by him earlier on. Length 45cm  estimated weight 1kilo
