In Roy Lichtenstein style, comic images are transformed onto canvas creating a new status for them. Here is a portrait of Jackie Kennedy taken from a comic scene. This style refers to the image of John Kennedy being murdered right next to his wife, his brains on her lap.

The empty balloon naturally evokes the title of the exhibition. This work highlights the trash which results from the media’s treatment of tragic events. There is an aesthetisation and a commercialisation of it, with all sorts of by-products.
